Restoration Done Right

On October 16, just three weeks before Election Day, biologists from the Klamath Tribes and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife spotted a Chinook salmon swimming upstream from all four Klamath dam sites — the first salmon seen in that part of the basin in more than a hundred years.

This really is unbelievable news. First time in more than 100 years!

We remake the landscape thinking it won't do any harm (or maybe not even caring) then we discover something important is being lost. We try various work-arounds to fix it (sometimes anyhow) then at some point, because that's not working, we undo what we did and things like this happen.

Makes me feel better to know that things like this are happening even in our current world. Fantastic news!
